ZPD investigating theft from Legion Auxiliary
ZANESVILLE -- Zanesville police have been involved with a 2 1/2 month investigation into theft of funds from the Ohio American Legion Auxiliary, Detective Ric Roush confirmed Friday.
The auxiliary has offices at 1100 Brandywine Blvd. in Zanesville.
In a news release, Roush said his investigation is almost complete and soon will be presented to Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox for his review and possible criminal charges.
Details of the investigation will not be released unless official criminal charges are filed. Roush would only confirm the theft involves a "substantial" amount of funds and the individual being investigated is a former employee of the American Legion Auxiliary.
